Mérida is growing in gated communities: why access control became essential

Mérida's growth to the north and across its metropolitan area relies on gated communities. What that means for access control.

Drive through north Mérida, Conkal, Cholul or Temozón Norte and you see the same thing: new gated communities (privadas), one after another, each with its entrance gate. The city has been among the fastest-growing in Mexico for years, and much of that growth is gated.

One entrance, many people

Each community funnels residents, visitors, couriers, service staff and suppliers through one or two entrances. With remotes, the community does not know how many remotes exist, who holds them, or who opened the gate last night.

What communities ask for today

  • Grant and remove access without collecting remotes or changing codes.
  • Know who came in and when, to settle incidents.
  • Open without depending on a remote's range or batteries.
  • Manage everything from a panel, not from a notebook at the guardhouse.

How Remotify answers

Remotify is installed on the existing gate and motor, so it suits a brand-new community as well as one that has operated for years. Since 2022 we have worked with communities in Mérida and its metropolitan area, and every opening we handle is logged for the management.

If you manage a growing community, the best time to put access in order is before the remotes multiply.
